Each summer since 1989 Vail International Dance Festival has been bringing appreciation of culture and the arts to a new level with a series of dance performances and educational events. Dance styles showcased range from classical ballet to hip hop and experimental dance forms, delighting audiences of all ages. This two-week, family-friendly festival is usually held from the end of July through mid-August. While the open-air performances held at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater can accommodate large audiences and have the added beauty of Vail's mountain backdrop, be on the lookout for educational events and performances at other venues including the intimate Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, the Avon Performance Pavilion at Nottingham Park, The Arrabelle at Vail Square and Solaris, Vail.
