Vail Golf Club feels like a private course, but it is open to the public. The locals love this course that was designed and built by Vail pioneer Ben Krueger in 1962. It’s run by the Vail Recreation District and has a spanking-new clubhouse and restaurant. Golf Digest saluted this course as a Top 100 Resort Course. This mountain-style, 18-hole course is surrounded by the White River National Forest with picturesque views of the Gore Range. Test your skills on the fairways that are sprinkled with bunkers and beaver ponds. The par-71 course comes in at 6766 yards from the longest tees. Rates vary depending on season and residency. The course offers PGA/LPGA lessons and clinics for adults and kids as well as leagues, tournaments and events. This course is walkable, but you can choose additional transport with golf bikes, push carts and electric carts available for rental. Golf clubs also can be rented for the day from the Pro Shop. The gorgeous clubhouse restaurant, Grill on the Gore, provides a place for winding down after an adventurous day of golf. The clubhouse also includes banquet and meeting rooms that make it a scenic venue for mountain weddings, meetings and special events.
