Gore Creek Fly Fisherman, established in 1980, is the oldest fly-fishing shop and guide service in the Vail Valley. The owners and staff have spent the last three decades getting to know the area's rivers, lakes and streams and honing their skills. They're professional, friendly and quite happy to impart knowledge of those skills to their guests. They offer year-round half- and full-day fishing trips, though the flagship store (in Avon at 142 Beaver Creek Place) is on the only location open in the winter. On summer mornings you'll often see one of their pros in front of the store giving a casting demonstration or teaching a complimentary casting clinic. They also stock and sell fly-fishing gear and a selection of men's and women's outdoor apparel.
