The Vail Symposium is a grassroots, nonprofit organization founded in 1971. It was conceived as a once-annual, weekend “think tank” by Vail leaders to formulate goals and ideals for the purpose of guiding future change in young mountain-town community. As the valley grew and developed, so too did the scope of the Symposium’s vision. Its public appeal widened, and the programming was guided by the growing desire of its members to bring more diverse experts and topics into the valley. In the past five years, the Symposium has offered more educational programs to more members of our community than almost any other organization in the valley.
