The Bookworm in Edwards is an independently owned, Vail area bookstore. The shop hosts events, book signings and supports children's programs. It is located in the Riverwalk shopping center.
The Bookworm was founded in 1996 in a retro-fitted van that traveled between coffee shops down valley to sell books; then in 1997 it opened in a 700-square-foot store in Edwards Village Center. It found its current home in 2007. A variety of book signings and other events are part of its offerings.
This locally owned, independent book store provides children's literacy programs, like writing contests, book clubs and more. It also gives back - donating to schools, nonprofits and local causes around the Vail Valley. It additionally donates books to schools, senior programs and jails.
